I see it every week when I drop Abby off at a friend's house in Ocean Gate.

I've been asking everyone I see around this corner in Ocean Gate. Nobody has any ideas. It boggles my mind. Check it out.👇👇

Abby's friend says it's been there forever but she has no idea. It's on E. Lakewood Ave. Sort of on the corner of Ocean Gate Avenue, across from the Ocean Gate Post Office.

Ocean Gate is such a cute little town, it's one of my favorites here at the Jersey Shore. I like to call it an adorable secret. When you head to the beach, it's mostly locals that are relaxing and talking all day. It's safe for kids, it's just lovely.

As your kids get older and ride their bikes, you realize if you live in Bayville and surrounding areas, they hang out in Ocean Gate. They play volleyball on the beach and just have fun jumping off of the pier all day.

In 2018 Ocean Gate celebrated its 100 years and a couple of years ago they opened a splash park for the little ones. It's a great way for them to cool off on a hot summer day in Ocean Gate.

If you know what "that" thing is, please let me know. I was looking at google maps and it was just silver, now it looks like it has a black shell over it. My husband thinks it's maybe an alarm of some kind? I thought maybe some sort of gas tank for boats?

**UPDATE, "Thank YOU, Mayor Paul Kenedy, of Ocean Gate" - He emailed me to let us know what it is - a vent for the OC MUA sewer system - Just in case you were wondering.
