Lakehurst Police noticed that a driver was having a hard time keeping their lane along Route 70 and Rose Street which is when they pulled the car over to the side of the road.

An on-scene investigation conducted by Lakehurst Police officers began with the driver of a 2003 Dodge Caravan giving them a fake name.

Police eventually were able to identify the driver as 51-year old Joanne Murphy of Brick, whose vehicle was then searched, which is when officers found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Officers then found out that Murphy was driving around with a suspended license.

Murphy was arrested and brought to police headquarters for processing where she was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Hindering.

She was also issued five motor vehicle summonses for Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in a motor vehicle, Failure to Maintain her Lane, Careless Driving, Driving While Suspended and being an Unlicensed Driver.

Murphy was then issued a warrant for her charges and brought to the Ocean County Jail where she remains pending a court appearance.
