Brick Township homeowners whose Superstorm stress is aggravated by con-man contractors have a new ally - Mayor John Ducey.

Ducey is compiling information from Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, Elevation and Mitigation (RREM) grantees who've paid for work that's never been completed.

"We are constantly hearing about more and more people facing penalties for taking advantage of Sandy victims and grant programs," Ducey said in prepared comments.

"We want to help people who were victimized and I am asking anyone who was to call my office."

Residents approved for RREM funds, who have engaged contractors and still face unexplained delays for project completions, or who have lost contact with contractors altogether, should call Ducey's line, 732-262-1240.

Once he begins populating the database, Ducey will assemble all respondents for a meeting at a date to be determined.

Any resident who was approved for RREM funds and whose contractor has not completed work can call Mayor Ducey's office at 732-262-1240. A date for the meeting will be established in the future and all people who contact the office will be informed at that time.
