Brick Police arrest a man found in possession of drug contraband with a street value of over $45-thousand dollars.

Umberto Dilauro Jr. was found with a pint-sized bottle of Promethazine with Codeine popularly known as the drug “lean,” or “syrup" at a traffic stop but when officers searched his Kentwood Gardens Apartment they found 748 vaping cartridges of THC oil, over 4,000 unfilled vaping cartridges, several jars of THC wax and oil, a money counter and thousands of unassembled cartridge boxes.

This all followed a two-month long investigation that began in March by detectives from the Brick Township Police Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) which led to two arrests and drug contraband with a street value of over $45,000.00.

DiLauro Jr. is charged with multiple drug offenses including 1st degree Maintaining a Drug Manufacturing Facility and 2nd degree distribution.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Asset Forfeiture Unit is assisting in the investigation of further charges of financial crimes against Umberto.
