At some point in the very near future we will know who the next President of the United States will be. it could be today, tomorrow, next week, whenever.

While the question of who that will be seems like the priority it actually is not, in my opinion.  The real “million dollar” question is can we as Americans somehow try to come together for the good of the nation or will be remain a house divided?

It does not matter who you voted for and whether you’re a Republican, Democrat or independent.  You have to recognize that we can’t continue on the path of division because at the end of the day everybody losses.  There is always going to be disagreement whether it’s in your local town, Trenton or Washington. That’s simply the way politics works.

However it cannot be the type of disagreement that brings everything to a screeching halt because opposite sides are not even willing to consider the others opinions which is what we have right now.

Red and blue used to simply be colors. Now they are like branded marks on people.  It almost seems like we are heading in a direction where it might make sense to take the entire country and have people live in the state that matches their viewpoints.  If so then let’s add “white” for those that are free thinkers and not married to one specific party no matter what.  If so then I sure hope some of the “white” states on are on the east coast.

Let’s be honest. What is happening right now is simply not good for us, our children and our grandchildren.  We are a diverse population and separated by much but the majority of us really want the same things. Okay we might disagree on how to get there but in the end what has been said many times by many different people is really the truth.

“What unites us is much greater than what divides us.”
