Boyfriend charged with murder after woman found in car trunk in Newark

NEWARK — The boyfriend of a Belleville woman found dead in the trunk of her car on Tuesday has been charged with her murder and a weapons offense.

Pedro Lora-Pena, 42, was charged Wednesday with murder, unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose, and moving or concealing human remains.

Dianna Boggio, 41, was likely killed by Lora-Pena at another location before being left in Newark where her body was found, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray said Wednesday.
