ATLANTIC CITY —The body of one of the teen swimmers who drowned last Thursday has been found.

Atlantic City Police said the body of Kaliy-ah Hand, 16, was found by a Margate Police officer on the Jefferson Avenue beach in Margate around 5 a.m. Monday. Hand was pulled into the rough surf five miles to the north in Atlantic City on Thursday evening after lifeguards had gone off duty.

Her friend Ramon Quinn, 15, of Pleasantville ran into the water to rescue her but was overwhelmed by the strong rip currents as well. Quinn's body has not yet been found.

Additionally, 12-year-old Mitzi Hernandez remained on life support four days after she and her 13-year-cousin Emily were rescued within a half-hour of each other at 11th Avenue in Belmar, according to Mayor Matt Doherty.

A GoFundMe page created to help both families had raised $41,000 in donations as of Monday afternoon. Doherty's Mayor's Ball fund will add $20,000 to the fund.

"We're getting people to donate the funeral service and some other things," Doherty said.
