The residents of a Killington Road residence in the Silver Ridge retirement community in Berkeley Township were able to exit safety and without injury as their home caught fire on Monday night around 10:18 pm.

Berkeley Township patrol officers observed a fully engulfed home upon arrival.

As a precaution the residents who exited the home safely and without injury were transported to Community Medical Center.

The cause of the fire is still undetermined but police say a preliminary investigation shows no signs of foul play.

The investigation is being conducted by The Berkeley Township Detective Bureau, The Ocean County Prosecutors Office and The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department.

The Manitou Park Fire Department, Pinewald Pioneer Fire Department, Bayville Fire Department, Toms River Fire Departments 1 and 2, Berkeley Township EMS, South Toms River EMS and Toms River EMS all responded to assist with the fire on Monday night.
