Rockabilly classic "Be Bop a Lula" by Gene Vincent and the Blue Caps on Capitol Records was released this very day in 1956. It became a Top Ten smash and was a real departure for Capitol Records, best known at that time for pop artists such as Frank Sinatra and Nat "King" Cole. The guitar work and haunting echo influenced many, including future British Invasion stars.
