Huh?! Receiving A Backhanded Compliment On The Beach In Belmar

It's safe to say that I'm not the sexiest person in the world. I'm no Leonardo DiCaprio, girls don't throw themselves at me so I was baffled to hear what was shouted at me on Belmar Beach. It was one of the greatest backhanded compliments I ever received.

You are going to think I am crazy, but I wanted to increase my workout by running a 5k on the sand. As I was trucking along and approaching the halfway mark, I felt like I was being watched by a group of sunbathing young ladies near 8th ave. They were probably in their twenties, like me, so this isn't creepy. As I was jogging by, one yelled, "You would be a lot hotter if you had tattoos!" I played it cool, gave her a smile, and continued my run. It might not have looked like I gave a crap, but WOW...did a stranger actually say that to me?

Of course, because I think too much, the second half of the run was my own therapy session. These were some of the questions I was asking myself... So does she think I'm hot? Should I run back and get her number, but wait I don't have any tattoos? Wow, is all this working out really paying off? Do I look like a stud running on the beach with my shirt off? She might be right, should I get tattoos? What tattoo would I even get? If I got a tattoo would my Italian grandma smack me upside the head? How can I turn this into an article? Am I crazy?
