There are some circles and roundabouts at the Jersey Shore.

Before I tell you where exactly they're coming to in Bayville, is it a traffic circle or a roundabout? There is a difference between the two. They are very similar but circles are usually located in neighborhoods and the traffic circles may be a high speed than in a roundabout. Roundabouts are usually smaller than circles. Traffic in both of them is always counterclockwise. Roundabouts usually have a speed limit of around 20 mph.

I believe, if I'm not mistaken, New Jersey removed some circles and roundabouts because of safety reasons a while back. I know several areas at the Jersey Shore that have them, but they're mainly in Monmouth County. There's one that I know of in Ocean County in Point Pleasant.

Bayville and Pine Beach are rumored to be getting one right along Rt. 9.

To keep traffic flowing at all times this would be a good spot and there's enough room for a circle. It might cause more trouble at Veeder and Mill Creek, but we'll have to wait and see.

Pine Beach - The intersection by the 7-Eleven, Grant Street, and Rt. 9. Spirits Unlimited is across the street from 7-Eleven. I'm not sure if there is enough room for a circle here, there's not a traffic light.

Are the rumors true?
