In New Jersey, we are pretty much experts at tourists but are we good tourists ourselves? Let's find out. It's time to take the tourist test.

Experts have chimed in on some of the most annoying habits that tourists do all over the nation. Maybe we're observing it here in New Jersey, or maybe we're the ones doing it somewhere else!

We picked out three of our favorites from what the experts at Travel Awaits claim are the most annoying tourist traits they have found. Let's see if we see them, or maybe we've actually done them ourselves.

The Selfies. It doesn't matter if you're traveling to the Jersey Shore, or the Eiffel Tower in Paris, somebody is pulling out those selfie sticks, stopping foot traffic, and taking yet another selfie. Inevitably, the person taking the shot doesn't know how to take the picture, and everybody's vacation is on hold until they get the tutorial.

Dinner Choices. The folks at Travel Awaits came up with a great name for it, "McTraveler". They are the people who travel all over the world and eat at Mcdonald's. I'm going to stick up for them a little, though. They know what McDonald's is so they're comfortable with it, and maybe the trip zapped their whole budget.

Too Much Info. It's not personal information or bathroom talk being discussed here, it's those bathing suits that leave nothing to the imagination. Look, it's after COVID and nobody's bathing suit fits the same as it used to. We get it. But a good rule of thumb is when it comes to bathing suit material, more is more.

I would like to add one, too if I can. See if you agree.

You Don't Own The State You're Vacationing In. Yes, you paid a lot of money to be here and you've been looking forward to your trip all year. Of course, you want it to be perfect. We do, too. But you don't take ownership of the entire state because you're vacationing here. Be nice. Be courteous. No matter how much you paid for your trip.

There is no doubt we love our tourists. This is more about being better tourists ourselves, so follow some simple tips, and we'll be well on our way.
