We're approaching baseball's award season, and it looks like whether you're a Mets, Yankees or Phillies fan, you have someone to root for.

The finalists for American and National League Cy Young Award and Rookie of the Year Award have been announced, and all of the local teams have players in the running this year.

The Mets and Phillies fans are focused on the National League Cy Young Award, since the Mets ace Jacob deGrom, and Phillies start pitcher Aaron Nola are among the three finalists, along with the Nationals Max Scherzer.

Yankees fans will be focused on two of their up and coming stars, Gleyber Torres and Miguel Andujar, who are AL Rookie of the Year finalists, along with the Angels Shohei Ohtani.

While none of this year's baseball seasons had the kind of finish Yankees, Mets or Phillies fans dreamed of, a win in these categories for one of our favorite players would go a long way toward making this winter a little more tolerable.

My predictions: Jacob deGrom wins the NL Cy Young, and Shohei Ohtani grabs the AL Rookie of the Year, but after all, I am a Mets fan. The winners will be announced Monday, November 12th for Rookie of the Year, and Wednesday November 14th for the Cy Young.
