OK, I have had quite enough winter. I’m dunzo. Finito. Over it. In the name of all the is good and holy, we are supposed to “Spring forward” this weekend and adjust our clocks so why on earth are we talking about a “bomb cyclone” winter storm this weekend?!?

First of all, what in the heck is a “bomb cyclone” anyway? Are we really getting one of these?  They look like no joke. I looked it up and a bomb cyclone is basically a winter hurricane. Super.  So yes, we are expecting snow, strong winds, heavy rainfall, and a possible bomb cyclone.

The storm is expected to hit the state Friday night through Saturday night with rain accumulation and wind gusts up to 55 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

We will most likely get up to two inches of rain and it could get very cold.

South Jersey could see snow Saturday night…Friday is more of a North Jersey problem.

Coastal flooding, reduced visibility, blowing snow/rain, localized power outages and travel delays are also possible Saturday through Saturday night, and because of the high winds, tree damage is also possible so look out for that.

I have to give props to ol' Punxsutawney Phil who did say that it would be a long winter and Spring was nothing more than a pipe dream. Well, Phil doesn't actually talk, but that was my takeaway as he wiggled his chubby behind back into his cage.  Maybe I should have shown up to bribe him with some carrots or something?  In any event, we're in for it this weekend so stay home and make some soup.

Remember this New Jersey storm?
