Making People Happier in the Workplace
I'm a true believer in "what goes around comes around," karma. "Do unto others as you would like others to do unto you." "One Hand washes the other." Do you see where I'm going here?
There are employers out there that couldn't give two cahoots about the people that work for them. Then there are employers who treat their people fine but they are just still people that work for them, and make sure that they know their place. There are also employers out there that are just that, employers.
Then there's Dan Price, founder and CEO of Gravity Payments, who took a pay cut so his employees would be happy. A 930,000 dollar pay cut to be exact. Everyone of his employees will be making at least 70,000 dollars. His reasoning? Lifting money pressures off of them would help make them happy. That's where this saying comes in "you get more flies with honey then you do with vinegar."
So, Kudos to Mr. Price maybe others will follow in your footsteps.
What would you do to make your employees be more comfortable in life?
