It was 11 years ago today that rock legend Bob Dylan was picked up by police in Long Branch after a resident called to report someone wandering around the neighborhood.  Let me set the scene:

Dylan, who was 68 at the time, was scheduled to perform that night as part of a tour with Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp at FirstEnergy Park, home of the Lakewood BlueClaws.  He was staying at the Ocean Place Resort and Spa and to kill time before the concert went on a walk and was wandering around a low-income neighborhood when a young police officer stopped him.  She asked for his name and inquired as to why he was in the area before another young police officer showed up on the scene.  Dylan told them he was on tour and just looking at houses but neither officer (both in their 20’s) recognized his name and the singer did not have any ID on him.  Eventually, he got in a police vehicle and they drove him back to the hotel where tour staff vouched for him.  The officers thanked him for his cooperation and Dylan went on his way.

How about the fact that Dylan never made a big deal of his stardom or went on a rant of any kind. Just sort of let everything play out.
