Manchester Police say driver Richard Harrell drove his eastbound tractor trailer onto the shoulder when he noticed a Hyundai driven by 86 year old Rutzy Scott of Manchester drifting towards the center of Route 70. Harrell drove into two cars in his path as Scott wound up in Harrell’s lane.

Ridgeway Fire Company extricated Scott from her car and she was transported to Community Medical Center. Harrell was not injured.

It was the second time Route 70 in Manchester was closed on Wednesday. An early morning accident near the entrance to Leisure Village West left 60 year old Edward Strungis dead and two injured.
