Flu season is not over yet here at the Jersey Shore, although there is some better news with the latest update.

According to the CDC, the flu has peaked and is now decreasing, but the flu does remain elevated throughout the nation. according to the latest report (for the week of March 11 through March 17), influenza like activity is considered moderate in New Jersey, after weeks of being in the "high" range.

There are only six states experiencing high activity, and New Jersey isn't one of them. We are among nine states reporting moderate flu activity. Eighteen states are now reporting minimal activity.

We are certainly not out of the woods yet and should continue to do all the things medical experts say to do to avoid getting the flu, including washing hands frequently and staying home if possible if you are sick.

The CDC does remind you that there are still weeks left in the flu season, and recommend you get the flu shot if you haven't already.
