WOODBRIDGE  — Two people were found shot in the parking lot of a New Jersey Turnpike service area on Friday.

Details are few about what happened at the Thomas Edison Service Area on the southbound side of the highway in the early evening.State Police in a statement on their Facebook page said they were investigating a shooting incident that left two people injured but did not offer a location.

ABC 7 Eyewitness News reported a Mercedes van with a shot out window was found in the parking lot of the service area.

Police were questioning several witnesses in the parking lot including a Memphis-based rapper named Money Bagg Yo who was scheduled to play in Newark on Friday night, according to NBC 4 New York. He was one of several people seen being taken to a police car but were not handcuffed, according to their report.

State Police had not yet provided an update on Saturday morning.

A Delaware man was fatally shot at the Turnpike's Molly Pitcher service area in March when he drove his pickup truck straight at a State Police officer.
