Two cars collide in Manchester Township Monday

A two-car collision in Manchester Township Monday morning around 8:24 am results in damages to a utility pole and to both cars while only of the riders suffered injuries.

Police say a 17-year-old Manchester teen was pulling out of her driveway on Ridgeway Road near Cedar Drive in a 2003 Toyota Corolla as a silver 2017 Chrysler Pacifica was heading in that direction forcing the driver to try and swerve out of the way to avoid hitting her.

The vehicles then collided and the mini-van headed past the double-yellow line into the westbound lanes, onto a berm and then into a utility pole.

The 17-year old driver of the Toyota to police she had some pain to her head and back but refused medical attention on scene.

She was ultimately brought to a hospital by a family member for treatment and evaluation.

The driver of the Chrysler, 33-year-old, Hassnaa Badra, of Manchester, and her two children, ages 4 and 5, were uninjured and refused medical attention at the scene.

The roadway was closed for several hours and a detour established while JCP&L crews made repairs to the utility pole.

Manchester and Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Companies as well as EMTs from Quality Medical Transport assisted Manchester Police on the scene.

This crash is being investigated by Corporal Douglas Higgins of the department’s Patrol Bureau and Patrolman Ian Bole of the department’s Traffic Safety Unit.
