In the first incident, officers responded to the beach at 86th Street around 2:45 Monday afternoon after receiving reports of a medical emergency in the water. They arrived to life guards and good samaritans performing CPR on 58-year-old Brian Zwaan of Berwyn, PA. Zwann was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead about two hours later. Officials say Zwaan died from head and neck injuries complicated by drowning.

On Wednesday afternoon, cops say a 74-year-old man, whose identity has not yet been released, was in the ocean at 59th Street when witnesses said he was knocked over by a large wave; the man reportedly remained underwater for some time. Following his rescue, the man was taken to Atlantic City Medical Center where he died earlier today.

Officials say both deaths have been ruled accidental.
