FREEHOLD - A Monmouth man accused of stealing more than $750,000 by posing as the nephew of an elderly Red Bank woman with dementia heads for trial. James DeMitro was indicted Monday. Known as Anthony Tatalia, prosecutors say he used legally-binding means to drain the victim’s finances, bought a Ferrari for $150,000, took her house for a dollar and tried to take control of her will. DeMitro’s been jailed since August. A guilty plea could mean up to 10 years in prison.

TRENTON (AP) -- The state Senate has confirmed as the state’s next attorney general. Jeff Chiesa had been Governor Chris Christie’s chief counsel. The Branchburg resident previously worked with Christie at the U.S. Attorney’s office.
