Quoting a former President of the United States I want to make this perfectly clear: ”I am not a Donald Trump supporter.”  However even in these politically correct times I’m amazed at the fallout over comments Trump made last month when he announced he would seek the Republican nomination for president.

During his campaign kickoff speech he talked about lack of control over the borders and how some Mexican immigrants coming to the U.S. bring drugs and crime and some are rapists.  Trump added that Mexico is not sending its best people but rather those with lots of problems.

He has taken considerable heat for those remarks but has refused to apologize or take them back. If anything he’s repeated his views on more than one occasion.

Only time will tell if those remarks have doomed his candidacy but one thing is for sure, it’s going to hurt him in the wallet although there’s no need to hold a telethon for the billionaire entrepreneur.  A laundry list of organizations and even countries have broken off relationships with Trump and businesses connected to him while others are re-examining those relationships.  Consider this:

  • Univision says it won’t air the Miss USA pageant and will cut all ties with Trump, who owns the Miss Universe Organization.  Trump in turn announced he won’t allow anyone who works for Univision to use his golf course in Miami.  Later he announced he would sue Univision for $500 million.
  • NBC, which is part of Comcast’s NBC Universal, says it’s ending its dealings with Trump and won’t air the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.  At the same time Televisa, the large Mexican media company says it won’t broadcast Miss Universe or work with “The Donald.”
  • Panama and several other Latin American countries have dropped out of the Miss Universe pageant.
  • Hosts and several judges have backed out of working the July 12th Miss USA pageant and all the scheduled performers have dropped out.
  • Macy’s says it will stop carrying an exclusive line of Trump menswear.
  • Serta will not renew a licensing agreement for its Trump Home mattress collection.
  • New York City officials are now renewing its contracts with Trump.
  • NASCAR will not hold its season-ending awards ceremony at the Trump National Doral Miami, an announcement that stunned Trump.
  • ESPN will not hold its celebrity golf classic at Trump National Golf Club in Los Angeles.
  • The PGA of America says it’s moving its Grand Slam of Golf from that same LA course which they said was part of a mutual agreement with Trump.

One wonders if Trump wishes he used different words to address border issues or would he say the same thing all over again.
