The Golf Battery 3rd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment and 2nd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment are scheduled to conduct the exercise between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

Residents may hear noise coming from the training range and feel the ground shake. The cloudy skies help carry the noise farther.

The Base in a statement says that while they "work hard to minimize the impact training has on its surrounding communities" it is necessary to "ensure the readiness of America's fighting force."

The Joint Base combines Fort Dix and NAES Lakehurst with McGuire AFB in Burlington and Ocean counties to create th nation's only tri-service joint base. It is New Jersey's second largest employer.
