Toms River's own Todd Frazier is now a New York Met. The third baseman finished up last season as a New York Yankee.

Todd's impressive baseball career started at a young age, when he was part of the storied 1998 Toms River East Little League All Star team which won the world championship, due in large part to his amazing performance in the championship game.

Todd's Major League baseball career includes stops with the Cincinnati Reds, Chicago White Sox  and most recently, a very successful stint with the Mets crosstown rival New York Yankees.

The Mets signed Frazier to a 2 year, $17 million contract and he will bet the team's third baseman for the upcoming season.

As a Mets fan, I couldn't be more excited to have a player with his power, defensive abilities and locker room presence, all of which are sorely needed on a team hoping for a bounce back season.

So, congratulations Todd Frazier, and welcome to the New York Mets family!
