Townsquare Media and the Jay & Linda Grunin Foundation are teaming up to salute our local heroes with our Warrior of the Week program.

Congratulations to Eric Leather, our Warrior of the Week for the week of October 22nd, 2018.

On September 11, 2018, DC3 Eric Leather organized a 9-11 stair climb on his ship the USS Carney DDG64 stationed out of Rota, Spain. Eric and 39 other shipmates aboard the Carney participated in a 110 flight stair climb on the ship. Eric took the time to organize this stair climb in honor of the men and women who lost their lives September 11, 2001. Eric is a hard worker and took the time out of his busy schedule to write every name of the people who died that day on his fire equipment. Eric is not only a Damage control man in the United States Navy he is also a Volunteer Firefighter for Toms River Company 2. He is the true definition of a warrior.

Congratulations to Eric Leather, our Warrior of the Week.

Do you know a deserving past or present military member? Nominate them now. Every Military Monday, we’ll share one of the nominations and honor that person as our Warrior of the Week.
