The Board of Ward Commissioners discuss a possible realignment of ward boundries for Toms River & Berkeley last night.

Shifts in population make realignment a necessity. By law, wards must be redrawn every 10 years, when the census is completed. The Asbury Park Press reports one proposal advanced Monday night by Commissioner J. Mark Mutter included moving Districts 43, 49 and 59, all of which comprise the Greenbriar age-restricted community, with the Holiday City Phase I and II age-restricted communities (Districts 15 and 22) in Ward 2.
