We all know someone (in some cases several people)  who just have this ability to get under our skin. Most of what they say and do is harmless but at times their actions just annoy the heck out of you.

This month’s Men’s Health magazine asks the question, “Are you that annoying guy” and I’ve thrown in some originals here as well.

PLEASE STOP:

  • Saying, “Can I give you some advice?” before giving advice.
  • Saying, “Just kidding.” (I admit to being guilty of this)
  • Wearing the jersey of your favorite team with YOUR name on the back.
(I know this should not annoy me but for some reason it does)
  • While on somewhat of the same subject…wearing a wool cap indoors. Why? Believe me it does not look cool.
  • Talking about how much you used to be able to drink.
  • Referring to pro sports teams as “we.” Guilty as charged.
  • Posting more than one motivational Facebook quote per month. Those of you who do them weekly: they’ve lost their impact.
  • Bragging that you know the owner of the restaurant. I do know many by the way. Have I told you lately?
  • Walking softly in shoes or boots because you think that will keep the mud or dirt from coming off. It doesn’t.
  • Bragging about your fantasy football team like you deserve the credit because your players are performing. It’s called “luck.”
  • Taking the aisle seat and then being ticked-off when someone needs to squeeze past you.
  • Using the little resort pool for lap swimming.
  • Saying “you’ll take it to the next level.” What does that mean? Nothing
  • Telling people how great your life is with details about your wonderful wife, children, career, vacations. Usually that goes on for several minutes and is then followed with, “how are you doing.” This person really doesn’t want you to answer so a good response would be “my wife left me, my kids don’t talk to me, I have a terminal illness and I lost my job.” Watch for the expression on their face…priceless.
  • Ending with “that’s what I’m talking about.”
  • By the way, Mets-Cubs tonight at Wrigley Field. That’s what I’m talking about!
