Giants fans start each season with optimism and hope. Those feelings don't generally last very long.

For me, the feeling lasted 180 minutes. The Giant's took only one game, one afternoon, just three hours to remind me of the heartbreak that comes along with being a fan of Big Blue.

The details of the game aren't important. Suffice it to say the Giants, not unlike my beloved Mets, spend all their creativity on finding the most gut-wrenching, heartbreaking, stunning ways to lose.

Let's go over some undeniable facts. The Giants have won exactly 3 games in the past year. Yep, 3 wins in the past 12 months. That's three victories in the past 52 weeks, or 365 days, whichever you prefer.

They have won one game in the past 294 days. Chew on that one for a minute. You have eaten 882 meals in that amount of time. You have most likely celebrated your birthday, anniversary, and probably forgotten your spouse's birthday at least once.

So why do Giants fans do it? I literally have no idea. But whatever it is, I'm going to be doing it again Sunday night against the beloved Cowboys. For the record, I'll have eaten 21 more meals by game time.
