THE REGENTS Lead Singer, Guy Villari Dies at 75
The REGENTS hailed from the Bronx, New York. Their recording career was very short, but they enjoyed a long, long run on the "oldies circuit." They are most famous for the original version of "BARBARA ANN" - a big hit in 1961. The song was later covered by the Beach Boys, and it became an even bigger hit the second time around. The Regents recorded an LP and had a couple more chart singles with "Runaround" and "Liar" before disappearing from the charts forever.
