Dee Clark was born this day in 1938. Like so many other great singers of the 1950s, Delecta "Dee" Clark got his start with some very talented doo wop groups - the Kool Gents and the Delegates. As a solo performer, DEE Clark scored several big hits - "Hey Little Girl (in the High School Sweater)," "How about That," "Just Keep It Up," and the biggest one "Raindrops." Give a listen to "Raindrops" by clicking below, and appreciate the man's amazing vocal range. It's a masterpiece. Sadly, Clark was not able to make a successful transition to soul music in the middle 1960s, and eventually died penniless in 1990 at the age of only 52.
