The man was stringing lights in the fountain area of the park just before 7 a.m. Friday when he was hit. He was hospitalized for his injuries and passed away over the weekend after being taken off life support, according to township police.

"We are deeply saddened by our colleague’s passing and our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. The foundation of our company and the industry is safety, and we are conducting a comprehensive investigation into this incident," Six Flags spokeswoman Kristin Siebeneicher said in a statement.

Neither police nor Siebeneicher disclosed the man's name.
