HOWELL — Several swastikas were found carved into a bench at a public roller hockey rink over the weekend.

A parent told the Lakewood Scoop they discovered at least three of the symbols carved into the home team bench in a roller rink at Deerwood Park in Howell on Saturday.

The park is located in the Ramtown section of Howell on Lakewood-Allenwood Road. It includes a playground, four Little League fields, two roller rinks, and a skate park. It is about a 10 minute drive from Lakewood, an Ocean County township with a large Jewish population.

Howell Police confirmed to New Jersey 101.5 that they are investigating the incident.

Last August, nine swastikas were found spray painted onto backboards and benches at Echo Lake Park, a park also frequented by Lakewood residents.
