TOMS RIVER - Three men, who apparently filled a couple of supermarket carts and strolled out without paying Thursday here, are wanted for questioning by police.

According to Toms River Police Spokesman Ralph Stocco, they were spotted wheeling empty carts into the Shop Rite on Route 37 West, just off Route 166, at about 12:13 PM.

Officer Brent Mundy reported that they filled the carts with merchandise in excess of $300 in value. Two then wheeled the carts out of the store at about 12:36 PM, with the third individual assisting them.

Stocco said that they climbed into what is believed to be a gray, 2009 Ford Focus. No license plate identification was disclosed.

Anyone recognizing them, or aware of the incident, should reach Officer Mundy, bmundy@trpolice.org, or 732-349-0150, extension 1377. Toms River investigators accept messages through the department's Facebook page. All information remains confidential.

Any charges resulting from this incident are accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless, and until, found guilty in a court of law.
