Some are saying that tomorrow is shaping up as one of the great sports days ever, a “Super Saturday” that includes one of the most-anticipated fights of all-time, the premier horse race, the conclusion of the NFL draft and baseball’s best rivalry in its oldest and most iconic stadium.

Stealing a line here: ”stock the refrigerator, replace the remote batteries, get the errands done early, invite your friends and fire up the grill.”

It starts at noon tomorrow with rounds 4 through 7 of the NFL Draft live from Chicago on both ESPN and the NFL Network.  This is for the true football fans who know their teams can score big in the late rounds and come up with the next Tom Brady, Richard Sherman or Brandon Marshall.

Meanwhile at Boston’s famed Fenway Park first pitch is 1:35 as the Yankees and Red Sox meet for the 2,142nd time.  It doesn’t have the juice of a few years ago but Yanks-Red Sox is still pretty good.  Oh and by the way…game #2 of the Rangers-Capitals series at 12:30!

As the day goes from lunch to dinnertime we head to Louisville, Kentucky for all the pageantry associated with the 141st running of the Kentucky Derby.  Mint juleps, women in big hats and 20 3-year olds in the “Run for the Roses” which if not the best race of the year is the most anticipated.

More than 160,000 fans are expected at Churchill Downs where the forecast looks great with mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid to upper 70’s.  I like the #10 horse Firing Line which will be ridden by Gary Stevens and is a mid-range longshot at 12-1.

At some point you might want to take a nap or discuss whether you want to shell out around $100 for the pay-per-view of the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao welterweight title fight from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. While both fighters are past their primes and this would have been a better fight 5 or 6 years ago it’s still huge and will be broadcast in at least 52 countries.

Sports books in Vegas predict it will be the most wagered fight ever and despite a lot of money bet on Pacquiao he is still the underdog.  If you want to go out and watch the fight then how about Jay Z’s 40/40 Club in New York?  High rollers can grab a table with bottle service (champagne and cognac) and slider snacks for 10 people for just $4500.  Those sliders must be really good!
