Some JCP+L Customers Still In The Dark [PHOTOS/VIDEO]

JCP+L has restored most of the 85,000 customers statewide who lost power during Saturday night’s storms that brought down many trees & utility lines.

JCP+L spokesman Ron Morano says there are 600 customers still without power as of 9AM Monday morning and expects all to be restored today. He says  JCP+L’s outage map includes outages unrelated to the storm.

JCP+L expected to have the “vast majority” of its customers to have service again by late Sunday. “Some isolated, individual” customers would not be restored until Monday.

Morano said  70MPH winds during the storm knocked trees onto lines and pushed over utilty poles. More than 39,000 Monmouth County residents lost power and more than 25,000 residents in Ocean County lost electricity last night when the storms first hit.

Toms River Police reported nearly 100 calls Saturday night about fallen tress and wires.   Tress blocked roads such as Dugan Lane, Chestnut street, Woodhaven Street well into Sunday morning.  Residents reported various property damage to cars, and homes from the storm.
