Connected to the Kingda Ka roller coaster, The Zumanjaro: Drop Of Doom will lift riders inside a gondola with seven other riders 415-feet into the air and then drop them 41-stories back to earth at a speed of 90 miles per hour.

Three Zumanjaro towers will be built at Kingda Ka.

"Zumanjaro solidifies Six Flags Great Adventure’s dominance as the Northeast’s thrill capital,” said John Fitzgerald, park president. “This is precisely the world-class, record-breaking attraction our guests have come to expect from Great Adventure. Zumanjaro is destined to top many ‘must ride’ lists in 2014."

The name comes from the African influences of Safari Off Road Adventure, which will have a new section full of "mischievous and playful" Anubis baboons native to Africa.

For nearly 40 years, these baboons were a favorite of Safari visitors, but not included in the new Safari Off Road Adventure. The area was marked by red balloons this season.

The new ride will also mean the end of one of Six Flag's oldest rides, Rolling Thunder.  The dual-track coaster that has been open since 1979 with over 42 million riders. The ride will close on September 8.

Another new attraction for 2014 will be Cabana Cove, a private area of Hurricane Harbor that will include a tiki bar and beverage service.
