Sixty of the best basketball players in Monmouth and Ocean County will gather tonight at the Pine Belt Arena in Toms River for not only the final game of their season but their high school careers.

The Shore Basketball Coaches Association in a partnership with our Shore Sports Network presents the Senior All Star games which is always a fun way to close the door on the season.

The girls game tips off at 6 p.m and will feature standouts like Stella Clark (Manasquan), Kim Evans (St John Vianney), Hannah Scanlan (Rumson), Jen Louro (St Rose) and Ashley Tutzauer (TR North).  The boys game follows and includes a trio of Toms River North Mariners playing on their home court…Jaden Rhoden, Mike Nyisztor and Darrion Carrington.  Among others playing will be Devin Jensen (Manasquan), Adi Palmer (Lakewood) and Central’s Denis Corbin and Maks Gruszecki.

One of the highlights of the night should be the slam dunk contest at halftime of the boys game sponsored by I’m Possible Northeast Training Headquarters in Colts Neck.  Sophomore Scottie Lewis of Ranney is back to defend his title against five newcomers who were selected through voting on shoresportsnetwork.com.

The game is run by the Shore Basketball Coaches Association whose president is Mike Puorro of Barnegat High School.  They will also honor their coaches and players of the year tonight and present scholarship awards to four outstanding student-athletes.

Tickets are $5 for adults and students and $3 for senior citizens. It would be great to nice a nice show of support for these players who have had outstanding high school careers.
