Police seek suspect in Lakewood shooting
Lakewood Police are searching for at a suspect involved with a shooting Wednesday afternoon.
A neighbors called 9-1-1 to report seeing several men at a home on Williamsburg Drive and hearing several gunshots. Around the same time, a woman called police to report she was taking a man to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus (the former Kimball Medical Center) in Lakewood for gunshot wounds.
The suspect in the Williamsburg Drive incident is described as an approximately 25-year-old black male, 5-foot, 6-inches tall weighing 170 pounds with dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants and white sneakers.
He is driving a white 2004 G35 four-door white Infinity with New Jersey license plate Y50 DXC. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
The Lakewood Scoop reports the victim was shot at least 5 times in the legs and waist and is hospitalized in stable condition.
No information has been released on the extent of injuries or a motive.
