Visitation times for Holt are scheduled for Friday at 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday morning at 8:30 at the Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals in Toms River. A funeral mass will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 the St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Toms River where Brandon attended school as a first grader.

St. Joseph's remembered  Brandon on its website as "a exuberant, happy and energetic who liked grape popsicles" as the school turns to prayer for students and parents to cope with their loss.

Brandon's parents have decided to donate his organs. “Me and my wife, we both decided it would help carry his name that he is helping somebody,” Ron Holt told the Asbury Park Press.  “We didn’t want to, but we felt he could do some good.” The family has also created the Brandon Holt Memorial Fund but its mission is still being formulated. Brandon's mother Christine is said to be a strong supporter of gun control according to the Press.

Neighbors are also decorating their yards with purple ribbons in Brandon's memory.

Brandon's grandmother Donna Elefante expressed anger at the shooting. "I can't believe that they found 11 guns in that house," she told WNBC TV.  "I mean, with three kids? Give me a break."

The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Brandon Holt Memorial Fund, c/o Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753.
