July is coming to an end and before you know it September will be here and there are few fundraisers that I wanted to make you aware of during that month.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ocean County will host their Annual Casino Night on Friday, September 28th in the Atlantis Ballroom at the Days Hotel in Toms River.

Honored that night will be the Toms River Police Foundation and those attending will enjoy an evening of blackjack, roulette, craps and poker along with dinner and an open bar while helping raising money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ocean County.  Tickets are on sale now and sponsors are being solicited and for more information you can call 732-505-3400 or visit bbsoc.org/casino.

Jim DeAngelis of the Lakewood BlueClaws and Jill Hitchens of Investors Bank are the co-chairs for the event.

September is always a busy month for golf outings designed to raise money for charitable causes.  The 2nd Annual “A Tail to Tell Puppy Mill Rescue” golf tournament will take place on Thursday, September 20th at Gambler’s Ridge in Cream Ridge.  The $100 cost includes golf, cart, lunch and dinner and for more about the outing and the organization visit atailtotell.com.

The 4th Annual Jonathan Morse Memorial Golf Outing is set for Monday, September 24th at Galloway National and raises money for the Morse Family Fund and the Jonathan Morse Endowment Scholarship.  For questions and more information you can contact Lucie Morse at (732) 674-2027.

On an unrelated note the semifinals of the Jersey Shore Basketball League are set for tonight at St. Rose High School with Stern’s Trailer to face Orthopaedic Institute of Central Jersey in the 7:15 opener followed by Larson Ford against RKE Athletic.  The games will be streamed live at shoresportsnetwork.com.
