Sgt. Eileen Dodd said police pursued Gerald Snyder, 31, a resident of the Farmingdale Garden Apartments, through Howell and Farmingdale before eventually stopping the chase in the interest of public safety. He was originally spotted on Casino Drive and police blocked his car, but he allegedly jumped the curb to get around the squad car, and led the police to Farmingdale at a high rate of speed.

Snyder was released from jail last month after he was charged with a residential burglary in another town. He is a suspect in as many as a dozen burglaries this month.

Police said a man, whom they later identified as Snyder, was seen by a neighbor kicking in the front door of a neighbor’s house and later laving with a jewelry box. He was driving a maroon-colored BMW 528i.

Snyder is described as  6-foot, 3-inches tall, with hazel eyes and brown hair. Anyone with knowledge of Snyder's whereabouts is urged to call 732-938-4575.
