Sammy Owners Face Animal Cruelty Charges

A Brick husband and wife accused of animal cruelty face the judge. 

The Star Ledger reports hundreds of people wearing green "Justice For Sammy" T-shirts showed up to the arraignment of Keith and Shauna Morgan, who left their cocker spaniel now named Sammy  in a trash bag, causing serious injuries to the 15-year-old dog.

Doctors and staff at the Red Bank Veterinary Hospital nursed Sammy back to health and he has been adopted by another family with other cocker spaniels. Meanwhile, Sammy has a Facebook page as over 14,000 people from around the world continue to "like" and support Sammy.

The Morgans face a slew of charges including interfering with an investigation.  They could face jail time and fines.
