A Toms River man faces a host of charges after being arrested for breaking into his ex-girlfriend's Island Heights home and attacking her new boyfriend with a knife Sunday. Frederick Pisciotti faces aggravated assault, burglary and eluding counts after allegedly stabbing his romantic rival in the abdomen, causing him to suffer a 5-inch gash.

In a report by the Asbury Park Press, "Pisciotti had left the home before police arrived but his car was later found crashed into a landscaped wall at Laurel and Ocean Avenues, so authorities contacted his family and asked them to notify them if he returned home. Pisciotti was later taken into custody was freed Tuesday after posting $100,000 bail."

The victim was at first transported to Community Medical Center by car by the girlfriend but the hospital arranged for him to be airlifted to the Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune where he remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition.
