BRICK TOWNSHIP - A road rage incident here this morning ends when a driver runs over his adversary and takes off. Now a hunt is on to bring him in.

Police describe the victim's injuries as serious. The flareup occurred at about 8:24 AM, near the rear of the Stop & Shop on Hooper Avenue. After striking the victim with the car, the driver headed toward northbound Brick Boulevard.

Authorities are looking for a black, older-model Volvo four-door sedan, likely with windshield and side-view mirror damage. The car has New Jersey license plates, possibly bearing the characters "F56."

The suspect is described as a white male, in his 30s, with dark hair. He was unshaven, and clad in a red sweatshirt, jeans and sunglasses, police said.

Witnesses, or anyone with knowledge of the incident, is urged to call Brick Township PD, 732-262-1100.

Brick Township Patrolman Jay Lampiasi and Detective Brad Frank of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office are organizing the investigation.
