Riverside man pleads guilty in 2016 fatal shooting
A Riverside man has plead guilty to fatally shooting a woman in April of 2016 in an apartment on Hooker Street in the township.
44-year old Darren Winningham will be sentenced to a decade behind bars after pleading guilty to First Degree Aggravated Manslaughter when appearing in court April 27 according to the Burlington County Prosecutors Office.
His sentenced was agreed upon in exchange of his guilty plea.
Winningham had been accused of shooting 35-year old Nikita Cross of Galloway Township at his residence April 23, 2016 during a house party.
Cross was found on the floor with a gunshot wound to her chest.
She was transported by the Delran Emergency Squad to Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County in Willingboro where she was pronounced dead.
Winningham was arrested without incident and has been lodged in the Burlington County Jail since his arrest.
A motive for the shooting was not released.
