RAMSEY — Former Rutgers and  Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice is not taking a position with the Don Bosco high school football team, according to the athletic director and head coach.

After Rice was seen at the Ramsey school on Monday, ESPN reporter Dianna Russini tweeted  that Rice was making his return to football as the Ironmen's running back coach. However, head coach Mike Teel told CBS Philly Rice was a good friend from college and “he came and spoke to my team today about right choices."

Teel is the new head coach of the perennial top-ranked North Jersey high school football team and was quarterback for the Scarlett Knights with Rice between 2005 and 2007.

Rice joined the Ravens in 2008 and played with the team until 2014 when video surfaced showing him punching his wife in the elevator a the former Revel casino in Allantic City. The charges were dropped after he went through court-supervised counseling but Rice has not returned to the pros.
