Have you been noticing more and more traffic, congested roads and car accidents as we approach the holiday season?  So have I.

Like most of you, I have been doing a lot of driving the past few weeks. Between running around for work, shopping for Christmas presents and running various errands for around the house, I've been on just about every major road between exits 63 and 98 on the Garden State Parkway. Unfortunately during my travels I've witnessed more than a few accidents.  From minor fender benders to major multi-car accidents, it's been a maze of sirens and broken glass.

Practice Patience

The holidays are enjoyable, but can also be accompanied by a lot of stress.  Who to buy for?  What to buy them?  How much to spend?  Do I have enough money!?  Take a deep breath and relax.  When you have that much on your mind while driving, it can be a recipe for disaster.  Use the time in your car to unwind - not to fast forward.

Stay Alert

Even if you are relaxed, it doesn't mean that those driving around you are.  If there was ever a time for defensive driving, this is the time.  Be aware of your surroundings and act accordingly.  It's a far better scenario to drive safely and slowly then to be reckless and pay the ultimate price for you or some one else.

Stay Cool

So remember the next time some one cuts you off or you're in a bad traffic jam - let it slide.  There are bigger things to worry about than one moment of road rage.  Enjoy the holiday season - because a year from now you'll have memories of this Christmas - don't let that include an accident.

What Do You Think?

Have you noticed more and more incidents of traffic jams, aggressive driving and accidents this month?  Which roads have you noticed are the worst areas?
