Police: Man Clings to Moving SUV in Seaside Heights
Authorities say police dogs subdued a New York man who clung onto the back of a sport utility vehicle and beat it with his fists before fleeing when police approached him.
Seaside Heights police tell the Asbury Park Press that 47-year-old Edward Sasko of Wallkill faces criminal mischief charges. He was being treated at a hospital for several dog bites, but his injuries aren't considered serious.
It's not clear why Sasko was clinging to the SUV, which was driven by a 39-year-old Wallkill woman whose name was not released. Authorities don't know whether the two knew each other.
The brief pursuit began around 4:15 a.m. Sunday, and Sasko was found about two blocks away from where police stopped the SUV.
It's not known if Sasko has retained a lawyer.
