Police looking for hit-and-run driver who struck pedestrian in Lakewood Sunday
Police in Lakewood are hoping you can help them find the man who struck a pedestrian Sunday night in the Township and then fled.
A 48-year old Lakewood woman was found lying on the ground not moving near Cedarbridge and Hurley Avenue's when police responded to the scene around 11 pm.
She told police she was standing near the street corner of the intersection when she was hit by a man described as a black male driving a dark colored mini-van who then drove off.
The victim was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for a full medical evaluation and treatment.
Anyone with information on the accident is asked to call the LPD Traffic Safety Unit at 732-363-0200 ext. 5381.
Investigating the incident is the Lakewood Police Department Traffic Safety Unit, Ocean County Prosecutors Office and the Ocean County Sheriff's Department CSI Unit.
